Picture the scene, you have just bought a new car from your local dealer, or been to the bank for that loan, and without you really understanding why payment protection insurance has just been added to your agreement.  You certainly were not told the cost was upto 900% more than it should have been on the open market.

Alternatively you have been down to your local department store and taken out a new store card to buy that plasma TV that you had set your heart on and you have been made to feel that you just had to have PPI, after all that is what the sales person told you, it would help the credit go through !!!

Payment protection insurance when sold for very good reasons and exactly matched to needs is a very good insurance which is also known as ASU (Accident, Sickness, Unemployment), however there are many occasions when this was not the case. In fact most of the time it was totally mis-sold in quite a unbelievabe way.

Even where you wanted the PPI insurance and requested it you could still have been mis-sold if the sales person negated to inform you that you could purchase this insurance from another provider for a fraction of the cost.

These are some of the reasons why you could have a claim, others could be that due to your employer sick pay scheme you did not need the insurance, you were a contractor or were self employed or even unemployed (believe it or not) , you were retired, you had pre disposed medical conditions that you were never asked about, you felt pressurised in anyway. The chances are that if you have PPI attached to a loan or a credit card in the last 12 years you HAVE BEEN MIS-SOLD !

Protection Insurance can be claimed back on:

Even in the event that the store card for example has been paid off in full you could still be entitled to a claim and the subsequent compensation that would come from that.
