Real Life Case Studies
When you have money problems it often feels like you must be the only person in the World that has these problems and that nobody can be as worried as you are feeling right now. This is far from the case with 1.3 Trillion pounds of personal debt in the UK; and literally just in Nottingham and greater Nottinghamshire there are tens of thousands of people feeling exactly as you do right now, maybe a friend or even next door could be in the same position as you right now. We deal with people in need UK wide everyday, there will be nothing that you can say that will shock us – we are here to listen, understand….and then solve.
CASE STUDY 1 – Redundancy
Mr& Mrs P from Edwinstowe contacted Assured Money Solutions after Mr P was made redundant. Their income had halved and after paying household bills and the mortgage they were struggling to meet their creditor commitments. Their debt level was £20,000 and they were paying £900 a month. Assured Money Solutions got the payments down to £400 a month and Mr & Mrs P will now be debt free in 4 years and 2 months……and Mr & Mrs P can answer the phone again without worrying !

Mrs W from Mansfield had her own cleaning business and after she lost 2 key contracts she contacted Assured Money Solutions for help to pay her creditors. We negotiated a monthly payment of £500 instead of the £1200 she was currently paying and with a debt level of £39,000 she will be debt free in 6 years and 5 months…….life now looks a whole lot brighter for Mrs W!
CASE STUDY 3 – Separation!
Mr X from Radcliffe on Trent had unfortunately separated from his wife with a very ill son. He had inherited all of the joint debt and found himself struggling to pay back his creditors as he was commuting a long way to see his ill son which was adding further pressure to his financial situation. His total debt was £44500 and he was paying around £1000 a month for unsecured credit debts. After visiting AMS we managed to get his payments reduced to £401 a month and he will be debt free in just over 9 years worst case scenario and now can see his way forward !
CASE STUDY 4 – Unexpected Pregnancy!
Mr & Mrs Y from Hucknall had some pleasant but surprise news when Mrs Y found that she was pregnant with their second child. This meant the loss of her earnings into the household. They were paying around £1300 a month to their creditors with total outstanding debts on unsecured credit of £59,000. After visiting ourselves we managed to reduce the payments to £600 a month which they can comfortably afford to pay over the next 8 years and 2 months. The future of their expanding family is now much brighter.
At AMS we realise that there are a multitude of reasons why our clients start to lose control of their finances and unfortunately there are millions (more than 5 million people missed payments on their credit cards in the last 6 months) of people within the UK facing financial difficulty. We never judge!
Our job is to help our clients in the very short term to reduce their monthly outgoings to an amount that they can afford to reduce immediate pressure. Our job in the medium to long term when we work with our clients is to help them get back total control of their finances through financial coaching and understanding what they can do to improve their credit rating.
We also help our clients understand good credit versus bad credit. Not all debt is bad. The only bad debt is debt that you cannot afford to pay back. Without going into debt most people would never live in their own home, drive a car or go on holiday…and most of us want those things.
In this section of the site we will highlight some real life case studies so that you can see that you certainly are not alone and hopefully you can relate to some of these situations. All advice at AMS is highly confidential so we never print names.
So in conclusion – don’t worry… you are not alone, and even the most severe cases of personal debt can be resolved – please call 0800 612 2472 for a free and sympathetic debt counselling service.
